Anyone out there want to use this thread to talk in English? I started collecting their albums after seeing them on the Old Grey Whistle test in England around 1978. They played live and the song "Rock n Roll" knocked me out. The Grupettes were all dressed up in metallic silver outfits like spacemen. Very camp and very cool! Is Daniel Silverman out there? His great website seems to have disappeared. Can anyone tell me what is on the bonus DVD that was initially issued with Topless 16? Is it the same as the standalone DVD or different? I bought it from amazon.com and the DVD was missing! I think the Gruppo website needs a link to this forum. Beep Beep! Julian

Hi Julian On the bonus CD are 4 clips of a live concert: 1 Nonstop Girl 2 BdBdBd 3 Superman is back 4 Top 40 City ( not on the topless 16 cd as well) every clip is introduced by Hans Vandenburg himself! Maybe u can mail to ask if the DVD is still available but i think its sold out already.... There's another DVD called Career Movies available also : www.hansvandenburg.nl/test.htmI will ask Hans to ad a link to the forum on www.grupposportivo.com (bij deze dan Hans) We usually login to Hans' personal site www.hansvandenburg.nl/ from there u can click to this forum also. Good to see Gruppofans from abroad here! I'm planning to write email to all fans who signed the Gruppo guestbook to inform them about the forum but then again.... i'm full of plans all the time.... Welcome to the forum! Carefull in London! ( Going to Brighton in 2 weeks myself!) Mark

Hi Mark, Thanks for the comprehensive reply and scan of the bonus DVD with Topless 16. I have found it at a couple of internet stores and will try again. I have just sent my Topless CD back to Amazon for a refund. So what's on the Career Movies DVD? Sounds very interesting. Does it include old archive stuff from the 70s and 80's. I can find any information on it. I now live in the USA by the way, Houston actually, though I grew up in England during the 70's pubrock and then punk scene and lived near London. I have every vinyl Gruppo album from the first time around and all the CD re-issues. I used to have to get the train to the Virgin megastore in Oxford Street. It was the only store that carried them. I wonder how many copies of the last one, Sombrero Times are out there? Not many, I bet. I am still rather fond of that album despite a couple of fan sites criticizing it. Would you consider adding a Gruppo English speaking forum, so we can have various topic threads? That would be nice. Talk soon. Julian

Hello Julian, my name is Kor and i'm a fan of Sportivo from 1978. I've got all their albums (DvD) and a single to. Jou asked what is on the DvD well it's too many to write here down but there are 3 main titels.
1. Road movies -- live tour thru Italia with comments -- Live concert in Hamburg Rockpalast -- Old years eve -- It was......
2. Studio movies -- Old an new clips -- Rock 'n Roll / Disco really made it / Sleeping bag / Nice very nice/ enz.
3. Home movies -- This are home made clips by Gruppo Sportivo -- My old cortina / Mexican radio / blue moon / She was pretty / enz
by the studio end home movies are Hans, Peter, Max and Lies telling about the movies. but sorry it is in dutch. The total playing time is: 247 mins. So that is a very long sit(down) but it's all you have a good product for your money. Well I hope that you wil find the DVD and I whis you a very good time th watching it.
greets form: Kor

Hi Kor, Thanks for the input on the contents of the Career Movies DVD. I will have to place an order. I knew Gruppo Sportivo were on Rockpalast as I have managed to find DVD-R's of some other groups that were on that show in the late 70's and 80's and have been searching for a copy of their appearance since seeing it listed on an archive list on a Rockpalast website. Great stuff! Beep Beep! Julian
